About Us

The 127 Society for Housing provides safe, affordable homes for low-income seniors in Vancouver. We are a not-for-profit society registered under the B.C. Societies Act and a registered charity with Revenue Canada.

The Society takes its name from Psalm 127.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders will have toiled in vain.”

As the Board of The 127 Society for Housing, we understand this to mean that we provide homes for low-income people as part of living out the calling we all share to work for social justice.

As part of living our conviction to love our neighbours, we do not make religious beliefs a condition for helping our tenants. Neither the tenants nor the staff are required to believe in or practice any religion.
